Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using Sorushi, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Description of service

Sorushi is an AI-powered journaling application that provides pattern detection, reflection challenges, coaching prompts, and periodic reports based on your journal entries. The service is provided "as is" and may be updated, modified, or discontinued at any time.

3. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must be at least 13 years old to use Sorushi.
  • One person per account. Sharing accounts is not permitted.

4. Your content

  • You retain full ownership of the journal entries and content you create in Sorushi.
  • You grant Sorushi a limited license to process your content solely to provide the service (generating insights, challenges, reports, and embeddings).
  • You can export or delete your content at any time through the Settings page.
  • You are responsible for the content you create. Do not use Sorushi to store illegal content.

5. AI-generated content

  • Sorushi uses Anthropic (Claude) to generate insights, challenges, and coaching prompts. Embeddings used internally for semantic search and pattern detection are generated locally and are not sent to any third-party AI provider.
  • AI-generated content is for reflection and personal growth purposes only. It is not professional advice (medical, psychological, legal, financial, or otherwise).
  • AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. Use your own judgment.
  • Sorushi is not a substitute for professional mental health support. If you are in crisis, contact a qualified professional or emergency service.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or its systems.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service for other users.
  • Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the service.
  • Resell or redistribute the service without permission.

7. Termination

  • You can delete your account at any time from the Settings page. This permanently removes all your data.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, with notice where possible.
  • Upon termination, your data will be deleted. We recommend exporting your data before deleting your account.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sorushi and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. This includes but is not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or damages resulting from reliance on AI-generated content. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Changes to terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
