Journal Prompts for Friendship
Journal prompts for friendship to help you nurture the friendships that matter, notice the ones that drain you, and be a better friend.
Friendship is the relationship we most take for granted. We tend everything else, work, romance, family, and assume our friendships will just survive on their own. They often do not. Writing about your friendships helps you notice which ones actually nourish you, which ones you have let drift, and how you show up as a friend yourself.
These prompts look in both directions. What you give and what you receive, who makes you feel most yourself, and where you might be holding back, keeping score, or letting good connections fade out of neglect. Many people feel lonely not because they lack friends but because they have stopped investing in the ones they have.
They also make room for the harder questions. The friendship that has quietly become one-sided, the one you have outgrown, the apology or reach-out you keep postponing. Friendships, like anything alive, need honesty and tending to stay healthy.
Use these to appreciate as much as to evaluate. Sometimes the most useful outcome is simply remembering how much a particular person means to you, and deciding to tell them.
